Who is gaining market share

Share of the industry’s quarterly average assets under management, excluding domestic fund of funds, since April–June 2010. Share moves with each fund house’s investor money and with how its asset mix performed, so a gain is not an inflow.

Reading market share

What moves it and what does not

A fund house’s share rises when its average assets grow faster than the industry’s. That can come from investor money, from how its asset mix moved with markets (an equity-heavy house gains share when equity prices rise), or from taking over another fund house’s schemes.

Official AMC-level net-flow data is not available from the validated source. AUM movement includes both investor flows and market movement.

Share is measured on quarterly average AUM because that is what AMFI publishes by fund house. Quarterly figures are never interpolated into months.
