Which number should I look at?
- NSE provisional (FII & DII) — the evening headline most news quotes. Same day, cash market only, can be revised.
- NSDL (FPI) — the official, confirmed record of foreign investment, including primary-market deals such as IPOs and block allotments. It arrives a day later, so it rarely equals the NSE figure for the same date.
- SEBI (mutual funds) — daily buying and selling by all mutual funds, the biggest part of DII, with history back to 2007.
